Xbox live gives error, Can't sign in to messenger

Hi,

I have a problem, whenever I try to log into Windows Live Messenger through xbox live , it show me that I am connect but after some time, it gives me error message, Can't sign in to messenger and when I turn the lights on xbox live msn Connected again. Are there any alternatives?

This is because Windows Live Messenger automatically attempts to logged in and you have your own different setting on xbox , you can not disable auto sign in. Just pressing enter Contacts> Settings> Profile> Auto-sign in> Messenger Disabled.

You can configure Windows Live Messenger on Xbox 360 with Windows Live ID associated with your Xbox Live account.

To install Windows Live Messenger:
1. Log on to Xbox LIVE.
2. Press the Xbox Guide.
3. Select Chat and instant messaging.
4. Select the Messenger tab.
5. Select Register. Follow the instructions on the screen.
6. When you've finished registering, you can select new conversation to send a message to a contact.

4. Select Log. You will be signed into Windows Live, Windows Live ID associated with your Xbox Live account.

If you can sign in to Xbox LIVE but you cannot sign in to Windows Live Messenger, Check the Messenger service status and follow the below steps:

1. Visit the following Microsoft Web site: http://support.msn.com
2. Under Tasks, click Network Status.
3. Check the following services:
* MSN Messenger
* Windows Live ID

If the service is available, make sure that you can use your Windows Live ID to sign in to Windows Live Messenger.
