    How to configure Google public DNS

    Hi all,

    I heard that Google DNS has provided more speed as compare to local DNS, Is it true. How can i configure Google public Domain name server. Please suggest , Thanks in advance.

    How to configure Google public DNS

    I also heard that the advantage of using Google public dns is that, it offers more speed and is much more secure. It also provide add free sites to you. The configuration steps are follows:
    # You need to enter the IP address of your routers as admin console.
    # click the Basic Settings tab on the left hand side.
    # Then scroll down to Domain Name Server (DNS) Address. And select Choose these DNS servers.
    # Replace those address fields with Google IP addresses: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
    # Click Apply and then Test the new settings.

    When you use Google Public DNS, It means that you are changing your DNS operator from your ISP to Google Public DNS. Sometimes it will sets automatically by your Internet service provider by the help of Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. Basically in Google Public DNS, you need to change the DNS settings in your operating system. you may also contact your system admin to check this. Best of luck.

    How to configure Google public DNS

    I am using Mac Operating System, and the changing DNS server is as follows:
    # Click System Preferences from the Apple menu, and then click on Network.
    # If the lock icon in the lower left-hand corner of the window is locked, click the icon to make changes, and when prompted to authenticate, enter your password.
    # Select the connection for which you want to configure Google Public DNS.
    # Select the DNS tab.
    # Click + to replace any listed addresses with, or add, the Google IP addresses at the top of the list: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
    # Click Apply and OK.

    How to configure Google public DNS

    If you are using Linux operating system than the steps of change the Google DNS as follows:
    # Go to the System menu and click Preferences,
    # click Network Connections.
    # Select the connection for which you want to configure Google Public DNS.
    # Click on Edit button and in the window that appears, select the IPv4 Settings tab.
    # If you found that the method is Automatic, then open the dropdown and select Automatic (DHCP) addresses only.
    # In the DNS servers field, enter the Google Public DNS IP addresses, separated by a space: 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4.
    # Apply and save them.

    How to configure Google public DNS

    If you are using mobile device , then follow the steps:
    # Go to the screen in which wi-fi settings are specified.
    # Find the screen in which DNS server settings are specified.
    # If there are IP addresses specified in the fields for the primary and secondary DNS servers.
    # Replace those addresses with Google IP addresses: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
    # Save and exit.
