The problem can be related to the network connection of your internet. This is something does happen when your internet connection losts connection or do not provide much speed. Some sites do require lot of speed to which it needs to get access. For this if the connection has some problems or is unable to provide the accessing speed to the full fledge as required by the site you may face such problems. Contact your ISP.

Your browser may not be functioning properly for such sites. Orkut is a bulky site consisting of loads of applications and stuffs. It has innumerable features and requires lot of embedded stuffs and applications in order to function properly. Your browser may loose or might be out of plugins which does require for proper accessing. Install the missing plugins. This may help you out or try some other browser for the same.

One thing you could possibly do is by renewing your IP address set by the ISP. This may lead to proper accessibility and betterment. All you need to do is to follow the steps
    1) Goto start menu and click on control panel option
    2) Click on the Network connections option icon.
    3) Right click on the Local connection icon and click on properties.
    4) Select the TCP IP option and again click on properties.
    5) Select the option to set manually and enter the parameters again from getting the ISP.
    6) Save settings.

    This may help.
