Browser window freezes

I am using Mozilla firefox as a web browser, whenever i open a new window or new tab, my browser window freezes everytime. I don't know what to do? Please help me. Give me some suggestions.

May i know which version you are using? If its the older one, then please try to update the version of your browser. After updating your browser, may be your problem will get solved. Try that step.

May be the problem you are facing is due to java. You need to do one thing, first of all disable the add-on, after that you will get a message like this,

Name Java(tm) Plug-In 2 SSV Helper
Publisher Sun Microsystems, Inc.
Status Disabled
Version 6.0.170.4

You will get a solution to your problem, if its happening due to java only. Else there might be some other issue.

I have faced the same problem but not in mozilla. I was using ie8. It was slow to open and then would not open new tabs or windows from a link. I had java installed on my system from where this new tab thing started but when i uninstalled java completely my browser started working perfectly. I hope this can help you a lot.

Same happened to me,also caused by the java version. I've uninstalled firefox. Used the other version and updated my flash and Java.
