If your firefox that does not respond, try the following things :
    a) Rebooting the computer is a bad solution.
    b) make a start page with about: blank is a good way to start firefox faster if you encounter problems with timeout.

    Re: Firefox does not respond

Please complete the following steps to solve the problem with firefox :
    1. The first thing to do when Firefox is misbehaving is empty your Internet Explorer cache. Often, the cache is not damaged - it is simply too great.
    2. To empty the cache by pressing Ctrl+Shift=Delete
    3. Button Click Tools> Clear private data and slect all the options and click OK.
    4. A window will appear to delete files. Select the Delete all offline content and click OK.
    5. Or you can Firefox Uninstall from the Control Panel, and again, reinstall it.

To resolve your problem with firefox :

    1. First make two backups of bookmarks:
    a. Bookmarks> Organize Bookmarks> Import and save> Save (JSON). Choose a destination directory other than the profile.
    b. Bookmarks> Organize Bookmarks> Import and Backup> Export HTML. Idem, choose a destination directory other than the profile.
Give a meaningful name to these files.

    2. Make a backup of your passwords. Otherwise, see the extension Password Exporter.

    3. Make a backup copy of both files bookmark (json and html) and the passwords on a USB key or external drive.

    4. Download firefox.

    5. Uninstall Firefox through Add / Remove Programs and then delete the installation directory (C: \ Program Files \ Mozilla Firefox \).

    6. Install the latest version of Firefox by doing a custom installation. Do not start Firefox at the end of the installation.

    7. Starts the profile manager in Firefox:
Start> Run (XP) or Search (Vista) or by pressing "Windows" + R, tap
    Code: Select all
    firefox.exe -p
(do not forget the space after exe) files. Create a new profile by giving it a name. Do not remove the above (s) profile (s) exist (s) so far.

    8. Import your bookmarks: Bookmarks> Organize Bookmarks> Import and Backup> Restore> Choose File ... (fetching json file backup).

If everything works properly, reinstall your extensions and your plugins.

    To avoid completely:
    - Extension for Skype
    - RealPlayer Browser RecordPlugin
    - The Google Toolbar for Firefox (Google Toolbar official)
    - Kaspersky URL advisor
    - McAfee Site Advisor
    - The bar of the AVG antivirus
    - All the addons that claim to speed up Firefox (Fasterfox, FireTune and others).

Clear your cache. Or maybe you can try updating your java and flash version. Or upgrade to the latest version of firefox
