download stops halfway

Hi everybody,
Normally I used to download lot of stuff from internet it download very well and also give very fast speed until last month.From Last month when I try to download something It stop in middle way ,for first week i think that it may be due to some internet service problem but but after that i still get the same problem.I think it may be due to some virus so I scan my PC thoroughly but didn't get any thing.I also check for malware and spyware but not found any thing. I have also tried resetting security settings to default but still didn't solve it.I had this problem from every site.I used two browser opera and firefox I thought that it may be due to my browser so I uninstall them and again install it but problem still exits.
Please any one have similar problem or have any solution please give me.For your information I have cable internet connection.My PC running windows xp.Thank you.

It seems that there are various reason for your problem.As you said that download stop midway have you resume that download in firefox and still you face the problem.I suggest you try to install new version of firefox.If it is on every site that you face same problem It could be your ISP that cutting your download.Contact your service provider regarding the issue.

Hi It's look like your internet connection may be timing out frequently or your internet connection can't handle the pressure of the download and therefore causing it to time out.Try resetting your connection, unplugging/plugging cable wire may fix your problem. Also scan for virus/spyware. It can some times interfer with your downloads and stop them from being completed.If your internet connection times out you can sometime use download manager to resume any download that stops previously they just stop at any point during the download.Try to download from other site because if you download from same site then it may happened that the that site's server may cause this problem.

As per your problem what I suggest you that clear some of the unwanted crap off your hard drive, then run a disc clean up followed by a disc fragmentation. After that clear all your cookies from Opera and firefox.If you still have the problem It could be your computer can't handle the load, especially if you are doing more than one thing, or maybe the internet is playing up. or it could be a mess up from the site you are downloading from.
What I suggest you that there are many download manger are available in internet like DAP that increase your download speed and also if it break you can resume it again.
