Pc slow while opening emails

Hi guys, from few days, pc works really slow when i try to open any attachment, mostly video attachment or any mail pps. It takes lot of time to response which is very unusual, I have a Avira which warned me of the presence of a trojan twice, i chooses delete action for trojan warnings. But still problem is exist. any idea? what going with my pc? pc gets slow only while opening mails attachment. Thank you.

Do you mean avira antivirus ? Do you remember the name and location of the file found?

Otherwise some research in Avira Antivirus control panel should be able to give you the answer.

It may be that when you receive a large attachment, it's "lag" a little, it does not seem too serious, after all depends on what you mean by slowdown, is it only happens while attachments?

Which email client you are using? Which operating system? Have you updated your antivirus? if not then update your antivirus first and run a full system scan. I'll suggest you first make bakcup of your imp data before performing any action.

You may try following, but only after you uninstall the Avira if its not working for you.

1. Download Norton Security Scan , its free. Perform a free virus scan.
   
2. Also to make your pc free from spywares Download Ad-Aware
   
3. Perform a DISK CLEANUP as Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Cleanup.
   
4. Also do the defrag of your hard disk partitions.
