    IE doesn't connects to internet

    Hello,

Not knowing where to post, I have "Windows XP" (my OS). Everything is in the title! I have the page with following error

"This page can not be displayed ..."
"Can not find server or DNS Error .. Internet Explorer
    IE Version: 6.0.2900.5512.xpsp_sp3_gdr.090206-1234IC

    But Firefox works perfectly.

    Thank you for your help.

You are using IE6? have you tried IE7 or IE8? version doesn't makes any difference but you should always use the updated version to overcome from issues in old versions. You can download latest version from here: Download Internet Explorer

Try folllwoing, the method is the same for IE6:

Method to follow if you have Internet Explorer 7 If you have Internet Explorer 7, you can repair damaged files or missing registration information in Internet Explorer 7. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Start Internet Explorer 7.
    2. In the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    3. Under the Advanced tab, click Reset.
    4. In the dialog Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset to confirm your choice.

Try to *flush dns* from command prompt, remember to re-register the dns after you run the flush command. Run the following commands in command prompt:
    ipconfig /flushdns (enter)
    ipconfig /registerdns (enter)

Ok, so tell me is it happening with IE only? you said firefox is working right, what about other applications like messenger and all? Have you changed any settings for IE?

Make sure IE is not in offline mode. To work around this issue look at this article: Internet Explorer Starts in Offline Mode and Remains Offline

Have you tried by starting IE without any add-ons. First in IE, click on Tools -> manage addons. Disable all Add-ons See if there is anything in this list that doesn't seem to belong. If there is, clcik on it to highlight it, and then tick the disable option at the bottom. if it doesn't helps then open IE up by doing this: Click Start, All programs, Accessories, System tools and click on Internet Explore (No Addons)
