Show or hide the Network icon in notification area
You can use this procedure to display or hide the Network icon in the notification area of the taskbar. You can use any user account to perform this procedure. To show or hide the Network icon in notification area follow these step

    • Click the right mouse button on Start, then click Properties.
    • Click the Notification Area.
    • Do one of the following:
      • To display the icon, select the network check box.
      • To hide the icon, disable the network check box.
    • Click OK to save changes.

    Additional Considerations
The Network icon is the easiest way to access the Network and Sharing Center from the desktop. If you delete the icon, you can access the Network and Sharing Center by clicking successively on Start, Control Panel, Network and Internet and view the status and network management.
