| Error 8100036 in Windows Live Messenger
Hi, I have a big problem and I do not know what to do. From past few days, I failed to connect to Windows Live Messenger, It gives me the same error 8100036 every time, that is unable to connect. I did everything : checking firewall, checking connection, I tried troubleshooter, etc. .. nothing works. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program and still nothing My account is active, because I gave the ID and password to friends abroad and they can connect, so there may be an error or user password The problem is that even I can not get into hotmail to check my emails. |

| Re: Error 8100036 in Windows Live Messenger Error Code 81000306 in Windows Live Messenger : SYMPTOMS When you try to log in to Messenger, the following message: " You can not sign because of a problem with the service or your Internet connection. Check your connection to the Internet. 81000306. " POSSIBLE CAUSES The following conditions may apply: • you are not connected to the Internet. • The Messenger service is currently unavailable. • The Windows Vista Auto Tuning Networking should be eliminated. • The MSN Messenger proxy settings are incorrect. • Access to MSN Messenger Service is not authorized by the computer. STEPS FOR TROUBLESHOOTING 1. Check your connection to the Internet. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer and try to go the following website: http://status.messenger.msn.com/Status.aspx If you can not visit this site, please contact your ISP for information about how to set up your internet connection you both secure (https) and non-secure (http) sites you visit. If you can visit the site and now something is going on, visit the site again later to determine if the service is available so you can sign in to Messenger. If the site indicates that all systems are stable and running, go to the next step. 2. Clear the proxy settings in MSN Messenger. a. Start Messenger. b. Click Options on the Tools menu. c. Click Connection in the left pane. d. Click on Advanced settings in the Connection Settings. e. Remove the contents of the SOCKS field. f. Click OK twice to save the settings. Once you have cleared the proxy settings, make sure you can sign in to Messenger. If you still can not log into Messenger, go to the next step. 3. If you use Windows Vista, disable the Auto Tuning Networking out. a. Click Start, All Programs, click Accessories and then right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator. b. Click Continue if prompted for permission to continue. c. Type the following command at the command prompt and then press ENTER: netsh interface tcp set global autotuning = disabled level Note: This command is the Window Auto Tuning feature off. After the Auto Tuning Networking is disabled, make sure you can sign in to Messenger. If you still can not log into Messenger, disable this feature in using the information below and proceed to the next step. a. Disable the Auto Tuning Networking again in the following command to enter at the command prompt and then press ENTER: netsh interface tcp set global autotuning = normal level Note: This command disable the Window Auto Tuning feature back, so you higher performance for the throughput of the network can use it. 4. If you work with Windows Vista and a router (eg Linksys, D-Link or Netgear) in your home network to connect to the Internet, go to the website of the manufacturer of the router to the latest firmware for that product work. 5. Run a complete virus and spyware scan. a. http://www.windowsonecare.com/ find a virus scanner for genuine Windows software for a trial period you can use for free. b. Download and install the Windows Defender program. c. Use Windows Defender to scan your computer. |
