Share a folder on the internet

So here is situation, i want to give access to my share folder via internet to my cousin who is far away from my place. We both have internet connection, all i want to know is which application to use for this process. Please share your knowledge with me.......thanks in advance for any help...

You can achieve this by adding your computer to your cousins LAN through internet. Look at the thread linked below to get more details on it.

VPN is the solution for you to do this. And the other way is to get some sort of server software on your cousin pc, for example web server or FTP server. Then you'll need to configure your router to forward request to that pc running that server. But keeping your router configuration page accessible over the Internet is not a good idea in terms of security.

There are several programs you can use . I think doing FTP or a http webserver would be best and easiest to set up. I think you doing it first time then better is do it using SharePoint to help specify the folder, share it, and put permissions on it. And simply you can install FileZilla server on the PC that will share the folder.
