Find out who owns an ip

i am having some responses from mail of website but i want to know about there ownership of ip address so please tell me how do I figure out who owns an IP address is there any good way ? please help

There is less chance to get to the specific owner, but you can find out who owns the block of IP addresses that owner of address which is typically the ISP from specific region. this also known WHOIS search. you can search on ARIN database.

Many operating systems provide a whois utility. To conduct a query from the
command line, the format is:
whois -h hostname identifier e.g. whois -h whois.arin.net <query string>

You can use some ip tool like Ad hoc IPTools Page if one tool doesn't work, try using another.There are many out there but search for good ones else better to get to http://www.whois.net/
