Firefox won't clear history

I am using Firefox 3.0 on my windows xp system, the problem is my browsing history won't clear in firefox browser, it happens only with firefox not with any other opera and internet explorer. Does anyone know what causes this issue and how to fix it?Any help will be extremely appreciated.

In Firefox go to "Tools", click "Options", and then click the tab "Privacy" or Press Ctrl+Shift+Del,There you can click on "Clear private data" and you can also select "always clear my private data when I close Firefox". This has only dealt with Firefox. You may still need to return to IE and perform the equivalent there.

• Select "Tools"
• Select "Options".
• Select "Privacy".
• In Private area click "Clear Now".
• In "Clear Private Data" window put the check mark for "Browsing history" and click "Clear Private Data Now".
• Click OK.

Select "Tools" > Select "Options" > Select "Privacy" > In Private area click "Clear Now" > In "Clear Private Data" window put the check mark for "Browsing history" and click "Clear Private Data Now" > Click Ok to save your changes and exit the Options dialog box To confirm that your browsing history was deleted, click Go in your Firefox menu located at the top of your screen. If you were successful, you should now see that there are no previously visited web pages to choose from.
