Unable to access websites

I am using internet explorer on my windows xp based system. I am accessing internet through linksys router. When i try to access or log on to some site it display error message : Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. Can any one tell me why can't i log on some websites?

Start Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Delete Browsing History.
Select the check box next to Temporary Internet Files.
Select the check box next to History.
Select the check box next to Form data.
Select the check box next to Cookies.
At the bottom of window, click Delete.
Close Internet Explorer, start Internet Explorer again, and then try to access the Web page.

What exactly happens when you try to access the site?A number of things could cause a page not to load, Right click on the internet explorer Icon, go to properties. If you do not have a delete cookies button next to the delete files button, you have an old version.

Your browser blocking access to certain sites means that you probably have spyware on your machine. Get a scanner and scan. When a website connects to your browser it requests the IP and can also request host information like your browser and operating system. Try going into the User settings and either accept all cookies or add your websites to the Allowed cookie list.
