Some ActiveX controls are legitimate pieces of software that are necessary for a web page to function correctly. Running unknown ActiveX controls and plug ins is potentially unsafe and could cause intruders to plant malicious programs in seemingly benign web sites and lead you to their sites and have you run them unknowingly. You can either disable it from Registry as well. See this:-

It comes down to an issue of trust. In Internet Options; Security tab, click the "Custom" button and see what settings you have that are causing the prompt.Change from custom level to default and that should do it.As a good compromise between user friendliness and security, I recommend to check the following settings under ActiveX controls and plug-ins. To block out ActiveX completely, refer to this link : How to block out activex controls |

thanks for the info, but the pop up is not an advertisement. It is a warning about Active X. Not all users are getting it, but the ones that do seem to get it all day and even when they are not using Internet Explorer. |
