Internet Explorer RSS feeds not updating

Hi. I am using Internet Explorer 8 on my Vista computer from past one month. But from last couple of days, RSS feeds have stopped automatically updating in IE.I have right clicked on "Your Feeds" and tried to update them manually, but they didn't update. How can i fix this problem ? Please help.

Some times RSS stops updating because there might be connectivity issues with the feed server that prevent updates.First make sure that the feed URL is still valid by manually updating the feed. If it is not working than follow these steps for Internet Explorer 8:

1. Start Internet Explorer.
   
   
2. On the View menu, point to Explorer Bar, and then point to Feeds.
   
   
3. In the navigation pane, right-click a feed, and then click Properties.
   
   
4. In the Feed Properties dialog box, under Update schedule, click Settings.
   
   
5. In the Feed and Web Slice Settings dialog box, under Default schedule, make sure that an appropriate value is set in the list.
   
   
6. Click OK to close the Feed and Web Slice Settings dialog box.
   
   
7. Click OK to close the Feed Properties dialog box.

This will Verify that the desired update frequency for the feed is set by accessing the feed properties in Internet Explorer 8.

hey, thanks for sharing this issue here. I just wanted to know does this steps work for Internet Explorer 7 also or its just for IE8. As i am using IE7 and also facing the same problem. I tried to fix it by making sure the RSS Download Engine. But still no good response. Please help me.

Nope, there is different process for internet explorer 7 to make RSS feeds updating. Here it is:-

• Start Internet Explorer.

• In the Feed Properties dialog box, under Update schedule, click Settings.
  
  
• In the Feed Settings dialog box, under Default schedule, make sure that an appropriate value is set in the list.
  
  
• Click OK to close the Feed Settings dialog box.
  
  
• Click OK to close the Feed Properties dialog box.

If the issue is not related to the update frequency, manually update the feed in Internet Explorer to see whether the contents change.
