Unable to clear download history in firefox

Hi,

I use Firefox 3.0 as my default browser. When I try to clear data from Tools > Options > Privacy > Clear Download History, it hangs and nothing happens. Then I have to shutdown. Anyone has any clue what's going on? I use Windows XP (Service pack 2).

Please help me.

Hi,

Firefox download history is stored in a file "downloads.rdf" in your profile. that may be the causing the problems, so try moving it or renaming it. To do this : Close firefox -> go to your profile -> delete or rename the "downloads.rdf" file -> then restart firefox.

I had the same problem, it was due to a shared DLL conflict, I finally noted all of my IE and firefox to an outdated DLL for a small app that I had not updated on one machine. For fixing this issue I had to then uninstall and re-installed Firefox again.

Use the easily find download history in firefox function by pressing / (forward slash) and press F3 to go to next search result . Or you can do is, when you click on a link to a download, 'save file to desktop' and aterwards clear data from there.
