Re: Backup and Restore Filing Cabinet in Aol

If you Have Aol 9.0 then With AOL 9.0 bookmarks are stored on the server. So do not worry, you will have it again automatically.

Re: Backup and Restore Filing Cabinet in Aol

Your AOL software automatically backs up the e-mail's you have saved on your PC (Personal Filing Cabinet or PFC). This backup occurs once in every 4 weeks, when you exit the AOL software as part of your Personal Storage backup. The backed up Personal Storage is placed in a different folder on your computer.

AOL File backup offers additional protection for the Mail Saved on My PC (PFC) by backing it up to your remote storage space on AOL. To ensure that the backed up e-mail messages are as up-to-date as possible, AOL File backup automatically updates the Personal Storage backup frequency to "every week" during your installation of AOL File backup. You may change this setting at any time if you wish to back up your Personal Storage less frequently.

If you are using the AOL Desktop software, you can import the Personal Filing Cabinet (PFC) from an earlier version of the AOL 9.0 software, but the option to back up your Personal Filing Cabinet is not available.

Re: Backup and Restore Filing Cabinet in Aol

The recovery of e-mails after terminated its subscription is not possible, unless it was previously registered and read the mails sent to the Archives read offline.

Restore your Filing Cabinet from a backup copy
When you restore your Filing Cabinet (Personal Storage), the backup copy of your Filing Cabinet or Saved on My PC folder replaces your current copy.

Note: This feature is not available on the AOL Desktop software.

To restore your Saved on My PC (PFC) folder (all AOL 9.0 and AOL 9.1):
  1. Click the Mail menu, and then click Mail Settings.
  2. In the Mail Settings window, click the Manage Saved Mail button, then click Restore.
  3. In the Restore Your Personal Storage window, click the Yes button.
  4. Click the Save button.

To restore the contents of your Filing Cabinet in AOL 6.0, AOL 7.0, and AOL 8.0:
  1. Click the File menu, and then click Filing Cabinet.
  2. In the Filing Cabinet window, click the Manage button, and then click Restore.
  3. In the Restore Your Personal Storage window, click the Yes button.
  4. Click the X in the upper right to close the Filing Cabinet window.
