    Problems signing into hotmail

    Hi,

Anyone knows what the lockout period as a number of times the wrong password is entered? The log shows hotmail to:

    "Sign in failed"

I have tried to sign in too many times with an incorrect e-mail address or password, or someone else is trying to sign in to the account. "

I am feared that if I again try to sign within the retention period, it again increased retention.

I think your is blocked for account for 15 min to 30 min, otherwise just try to answer your secret question.

Maybe someone has logged on your hotmail account and changed the password, you might be not knowing.

    Re: Problems signing into hotmail

To do this, please follow the suggestions I have listed below:

    A. Disable the Automatic Sign in feature for your Windows XP Operating System:

    ! 1. Click "Start".

    2. Click "Run".

    3. Copy and paste this statement, "control Keymgr.dll" (without the quotes) in the 'Open:' textbox.

    4. Click "OK".

    5. Select "Passport.Net \ * (Passport)" in the "Stored User Names and Passwords window.

    6. Click "Remove".

    7. Click "Close".

    B. Clear cache and delete cookies using Internet Explorer 6.0:

    1. Click "Tools", and then click "Internet Options".

    2. Click the "General" tab

    3. Click "Delete Cookies" and click "OK".

    4. Click "Delete Files", and click "OK".

    5. Click "Clear History", and click "Yes".

    6. Click "OK".

Please be advised that when you delete your cookies, your browser will no longer remember passwords that are currently stored.

After you have completed the above instructions, sign in to your account using your current password. Your account should no longer sign in automatically to any Microsoft Passport Network site or service, and you should no longer be prompted with the error message.

For us to investigate your password group, we will need your cooperation by verify your account ownership. To do this, please provide the following information completely and accurately:

    1. The first and last name
    2. The sign in particular, with which you are having difficulties
    3. Your date of birth in the form "month / date / year"
    4. Your country or region
    5. Your state
    6. Your ZIP or Postal Code
    7. The approximate date of the last time you successfully signed in
    8. The exact Microsoft Passport Network site you last visited on your last successful sign in (Example: MSN Hotmail, MSN Messenger, MSN Chat, MSN Games)
    9. The approximate date you registered the account
    10. A list of as many personal folders you have created in the account aside from the default folders or MSN Hotmail (Example: Inbox, Drafts, Sent Items)
    11. The name of your current Internet Service Provider (ISP) and any past ISPs you have used

    * An ISP is a company that provides an end user with a connection to the Internet and other similar services, such as e-mail. Examples include MSNIA, Earthlink, and Comcast.

    12. The name of the organization that you access the Internet from, if you access the Internet from outside your home
    13. The IP address for each computer that you use for the account

    * An IP address is a code made up of numbers separated by three dots that identifiés a particular computer on the Internet (Example: 222.222.22.0). You can determine your IP address for each computer by visiting http://www.whatismyip.com/. Upon visiting the site, your IP address should be displayed at the center of the Topmost page.
