| where is my network key
I have forgot my password to my password protected router and the computer is asking me for this first. I have a Linksys WRT56G router. I have security set so I guess that is why I can't get the number. How do I retrieve my network key. Can anyone tell me how I can view the network key. I am using Win XP. |

Do you want the network WEP or WPA key - you will find it in the router settings or access point, where you must have entered, while setting up router. |

To Configure your Network Security keys (web or Wpa) : Open your browser, type http://192.168.1.1 in url, (by default the address of the router is 192.168.1.1) and enter your password (default is usually admin). Next, click the Wireless tab. Under Wireless Security, you will find your mode, encryption, and key. |

Go to start, click on run, then type cmd and click "OK". In the command prompt type: ipconfig and press "Enter". Then type http://192.168.0.1 in your browser. |
