How to repair IE7 in Windows Vista

I am having Windows Vista computer at my home with internet connection. My Internet explorer was running fine but since last 2 days whenever i open it , it just shows me the white blank page. Other browsers are running fine, this problem is just with my IE7. I have tried all that stuff about repairing the Registry but no good result. Could you guys make me know please how to repair IE7 in Vista ?

Re: How to repair IE7 in Windows Vista

The quickest way is go to Tools > Internet Option Under the "Advanced" tab, press the "RESET" button at the lower right and try restoring all the default settings. Or try the System File Checker tool. Follow this steps:-
Open command prompt with Administrator rights from the Start menu of your Vista. At the command prompt, type the following line, and then press ENTER:

sfc /scannow

When the scan is complete, test to see whether the issue that you are experiencing is resolved. If not than, Go to Control Panel - Switch to Classic View - Click on Internet options.Go to the Advanced tab and click the 'Reset' button at the bottom of the Advanced tab. Say 'Yes' or 'OK' wherever you are asked for confirmation. Hope this will work.

If resetting IE settings not able to fix the problem than it is better to backup your IE bookmarks and reinstall the IE7 or IE8 again. To know how to do that, see this:

Manage Bookmarks in IE7, Firefox 3 and Opera 9

The other way is to make System Restore to a point in time in which you did not experience the issue. When you use System Restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you installed are removed. To know how to do System Restore in vista see this:-

Re: How to repair IE7 in Windows Vista

IE7 must be uninstalled from the User Account that installed it or IE7 Gold or RC installation fails - no specific error message. Go to the key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer.

Right click on Internet Explorer and select New DWORD. Name that value InstalledByUser. The value of the new DWORD should be 00000000.
