    Restore Internet Explorer toolbar

I recently installed Spywarebot on my computer by downloading it from torrents. Everything went great and at last I ran it to detect some spyware on my computer. It detected 100+ malware on my computer and asked me to clear it. I confirmed the deletion and this gave me a sy of relief. Then I launched Internet Explorer to surf Internet but to my astonishment, the toolbar now includes some unknown icons. What is that? Is it some kind of virus on my computer? Can I restore my Internet Explorer toolbar as it was before?

After installing some third party download tools, the Internet Explorer toolbars might be changed and you are unable to restore the same to the defaults. This issue is caused due to the changed Windows registry values. To restore the toolbars in Internet Explorer, perform the following:

Open Windows Registry Editor (By typing "regedit.exe" at Run) and navigate to the following screen:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

Here you will find the following 3 sub keys:

    Explorer, ShellBrowser, WebBrowser

In either of the above mentioned sub-keys, just right-click on "ITBarLayout" and select "Delete".

Basically it depends on what you have installed and from where you have installed. Torrents are not the trust worthy in any cases. However if you still want to keep that software then just hide them on Internet Explorer. Right click on Menu bar, you will get a small windows detailing what all you have installed for your Internet Explorer. Uncheck all those items which you don't want to get displayed.

However if you don't want that on your system then simply go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Spywarebot to get rid of all those stuff which got installed alongwith it.
