I had installed Windows Vista along with Microsoft Windows mail program on my system. All my emails used to get saved on my Windows mail inbox. But now the problem is that it doesn't shows any new emails in my inbox, which i haven't open it. But emails are still inside the folders, but they just won't be visible. Can any body tell me that waht can i do in order to resolve the above issue? Does any body knows about it? Kindly help me out to get rid of the above issue.

For that you need to turn off email scanning,if any antivirus program is installed on your system. You need to also exclude EML files from the scan. Because, it provides no protection on your ssytem. Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and you need to uninstall Outlook Express from your system.

In order to resolve the above issue, you need to open up the Inbox folder, then try to look near by the upper right corner. Did it says "Hide Read Messages " or "Show All Messages"? Then try to change that settings and make it to the 'Current View'. Then you can try out for each folder, in order to saves its current view setting, you need to check out that setting in each and every folder.

For that you need to just follow the below steps mention.

    1. First of all try to close your Windows Mail.

    2. Then try to back up the email you wish to keep. The easiest way to do this is to take a copy of C:\Users\your username/AppData/Local/Microsoft/WindowsMail on your system.

    3. Then click on the Start Button and then select Computer.

    4. Then try to navigate to C:\Users\your username/AppData/Local/Microsoft/WindowsMail.

    5. Then you need to delete WindowsMail.MSMessageStore on your system.

    6. Then open up your Backup directory.

    7. The you need to open the new directory on your pc.

    8. Now try to delete WindowsMail.MSMessageStore from your pc.

    9. Then you can see your mail appearing in "Recovered Messages". Then you just need to move them from there to where you really want them.

    10. In any case if yu feel that, if it has all gone wrong, then just close down your Windows Mail, and then delete C:\Users\your username/AppData/Local/Microsoft/WindowsMail and replace it with your backup copy.
