Move Menu Bar Above the Address Bar in IE8

    hello friends,

I recently upgraded my web browser from IE6 to the latest IE8. Well, in IE8, I noticed a very interesting thing that the menu bar is below the address bar. Well, this may be a little modification to the latest version, but I want the menu bar to be appeared above the address bar as it was there in IE6.
How can I move menu bar above the address bar in IE8 ?

    Follow this -

    consider the following string -
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser\]
    “ITBar7Position”=dword:00000001

open notepad and copy-paste the above string into notepad.
using save as option, save the filename as” ie8_menuabove.reg” with type as All Files.
double click the registry file, continue with UAC prompt and click OK.

Next time when you will start your internet explorer 8, you will see that the menu bar is above the address bar.

Re: Move Menu Bar Above the Address Bar in IE8

I am using Internet Explorer 7 in which the address bar used to be above the toolbars. With my IE7, I moved the address bar down using the following steps:

    1. Go to Start > click Run > type regedit > click OK.

    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInternet ExplorerToolbarWebBrowser

Note - If the WebBrowser key doesn't exist, you need to create it.
    To do this,
    (a) Right-click Toolbar > point to New > click Key.
    (b) In the New Key #1 box, type WebBrowser > press Enter.

    3. Right-click WebBrowser > point to New > click DWORD Value.
    4. In the New Value #1 box, type ITBar7Position > press Enter.
    5. Right-click ITBar7Position > click Modify.
    6. In the Value data box, type 1 > click OK.
    7. Exit Registry Editor

On starting IE 7, I got the required changes....

You can follow the same method to move address bar below the menu bar in IE 8.
