All browsers stopped working

I have Windows XP Pro and i have installed a new IE 8 on my system. but after installing ie8, i can't able to connect internet.when i try to connect internet it wait for some times and disconnect until I reboot.i tried all the browser opear ,firefox but the same thing...why do browsers stop working. i didn't install any software or any hardware changes to my system. Can anyone help?

If IE browser suddenly stopped working then you can solve this problem by following method :

go to Start > Run then type regedit in that select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Micr osoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explo rer\BrowserHelper Objects. in that you can see there are number of keys which look like folders that are in numbers and alphabets.Delete all of them.

when there is problem like browsers stopped working then there are various reasons...home page or other settings are changed on your computer? Links are added that point to Web sites that you'd usually avoid.can you navigate to certain Web pages, such as antispyware and other security software sites.?

when web browser suddenly stop working and you are unable to connect proxy connection. go to Internet Options click on Connections tab select LAN settings button and make sure the box is not checked under Proxy server.
