When I load a page containing a MenuMachine 2 menu in Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 and click on a menu item, a JavaScript error occurs because of which the menu doesn't work. How do I fix JavaScript errors in IE 8 Beta 2 ?

Re: Fix JavaScript errors in IE 8 Beta 2

Follow the instructions below to fix this problem -

First replace your existing iedom.js file with the one in the following download link - ie8fix

    Here are the instructions:

    1. quit GoLive

    2. open the GoLive application folder in the Finder (Mac) or Explorer (Windows).
The GoLive application folder is in the following location on various platforms:

      Mac: /Applications/Adobe GoLive X/
      Windows XP/Vista: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe GoLive X

where Adobe GoLive X is the folder for your version of GoLive.

    3. Locate the Modules folder in the GoLive application folder and then open the following folder:
      Modules/Extend Scripts/MenuMachine2/Common/core
You should see a file called iedom.js in the core folder.

    4. Replace the iedom.js file in the core folder with the new version included with the download

    5. Launch GoLive and open a site that uses MenuMachine

    6. Open the menumachine folder at the top level of the site

    7. Delete the menumachine2.js file

    8. Click the refresh button in the MenuMachine palette. This will install the new iedom.js file into your site.

    9. Re-upload the menumachine folder.

    10. Repeat steps 6-10 for each site that uses MenuMachine.

Re: Fix JavaScript errors in IE 8 Beta 2

With Internet Explorer 8, the IE team has made some big improvements in improving garbage collection issues, memory management, and performance - all of which will be greatly appreciated in everyday applications.

But still there doesn't appear any pure-JavaScript features in this release. I can only hope that we'll see more in a future beta release.

Re: Fix JavaScript errors in IE 8 Beta 2

Internet Explorer 8 beta 2 has an issue that causes a problem when a MenuMachine 2 menu item is clicked on. This problem only occurs in IE8's standard mode and doesn't occur in compatibility mode. The problem is due to the way IE8 is handling the CSS clip property, which is different to the way the property is handled by all other browsers.
