You must be logged on to your computer with an owner account in order to complete this procedure.
Open Network Connections. (Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double–click Network Connections.)
Click the dial–up, local area network, PPPoE, or VPN connection you want to share, and then, under Network Tasks, click Change settings of this connection.

On the Advanced tab, select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection check box.

Under Internet Connection Sharing, in Home networking connection, select any adapter that connects the computer sharing its Internet connection to the other computers on your network. The Home networking connection is only present when two or more network adapters are installed on the computer.

To configure Internet options on your client computers for ICS, Open Internet Explorer. Click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Internet Explorer.)
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
On the Connections tab, click Never dial a connection, and then click LAN Settings.

    Setup procedures
To enable Internet Connection Sharing on a network connection, follow theses steps:

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Network Connections.
    2. Click the local area network (LAN) connection or click the dial-up networking connection that you want to share (that is, the one that connects to the Internet), and then under Network Tasks, click Change settings of this connection.
    3. On the Advanced tab, click to select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection check box.
    4. If this is a dial-up networking connection, and you want the connection to be automatically dialed when another computer on your network tries to connect to the Internet, click to select the Establish a dial-up connection whenever a computer on my network attempts to access the Internet check box.
    5. If you want to permit other network users to enable or to disable the shared Internet connection, click to select the Allow other network users to control or disable the shared Internet connection check box.
    6. Under Internet Connection Sharing in Home networking connection, select the connection that connects the computer that is sharing its Internet connection to the other computers on your network.

Re: How to enable ICS on a network connection

    1. Do not use Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) in a network with other domain controllers, DNS servers, gateways, DHCP servers, or systems configured for static IP.
    2. When you enable ICS, the network adapter connected to your home or small office network gets a new static IP address configuration. Existing TCP/IP connections on the computer running ICS are lost and must be reestablished. For example, if Internet Explorer is connecting to a Web site when ICS is enabled, you must refresh the browser to reestablish the connection.
    3. To use ICS, users on your home or small office network should configure TCP/IP on their local area connection to obtain an IP address automatically. Home or small office network users must also configure Internet options for ICS.
