HI,

Am getting Certificate verification failed error most of the time, and just wanted to get rid of this,I don't know what went wrong as it is giving this kind of error,I have also not seen this problem any of the time since I started browsing on the Internet, and am very sure that this problem is only because of Internet as i am getting the suggestion for smtp.comcast.net.

$smtp_tls_CApath and $smtp_tls_CAfile is just two different ways to specify the same configuration, which CA's you want to trust. The $smtp_tls_cert_file should point to the server specific certificate (I think).

Use this link instead: http://www.verisign.com/support/roots.html (which will redirect you to roots.zip). The filename in that archive is C3_PCA_G5_v1.*.

Anyway, you need the "VeriSign Class 3 Secure Server CA" to avoid the error, that's propably the SecureServer.*-file in the archive above. If you extract the file(s) to /etc/ssl/certs/, then remember to make the correct link, otherwise OpenSSL is unable to recognize it.
