Add colors to the tabs in FireFox

Firefox introduced the world to the concept of tabbed browsing, and in doing so eliminated the need for people to run multiple instances of the same browser ever again. The only downside to the Firefox tabs is that when you have several tabs open they all tend to run together. Fortunately that little problem is solved with Colorful Tabs.

Colorful Tabs for Firefox is a highly customizable add-on that makes each tab that you open a different color which makes tabs easier to distinguish from each other and it helps to make the active tab stand out against the background tabs.

What Colorful Tabs does is give each tab its own background color, and it allows you to customize them however you want. You can let Colorful Tabs generate tab colors at random or by domain name, and you can even preset colors for domains of your choosing

To access Colorful Tabs options menu, right click on a tab and select ColorfulTabs > Options or go to Tools > Add-ons > Extensions > Colorful Tabs > Options.

I really liked this, however with this latest update the random colors aren't so random as they were; i.e. all five tabs are all a version of purple or whatever. The old version gave me five totally different tab colors.

That is a great add-on i liked till now. Colorful Tabs has received various awards and has been distributed* with popular IT magazines around the world. Colorful Tabs made it into BBC's show 'Click' in June 2007.
