WLM Has Stopped Working.

Recently ive encountered a problem with WLM messenger. >.<
Every time i sign on, a pop up[well not really a pop up] comes up saying;

"Windows Live Communications Platform has encountered a problem. We are sorry for the inconvienience."

It used to come up before i had Internet Explorer 8 which was a while ago. but it has started coming up again today.

It prevents me from changing my screen name, personal message and display picture. i cant add people or emoticons. Basically, if i ignore it, all i can do is chat and nothing more.

How do i stop this from coming up?

Looks like WLM had a problem with your Contacts sync.Windows Live Communication is the engine that manages/syncs the common contacts between Windows Live Mail, Windows Live Messenger and the web interface.

If the message continues...closing WLM and deleting the contents of the Windows Live Contacts folder(found in your user profile) may help.

i have also experienced these problems with windows live messenger but have found a (temporary) fix for it, to at least allow me to use messenger freely.

First of all, you need to completely uninstall windows live messenger.

Then go to http://www.filehippo.com/download_msn_messenger/?1408 and download this version (or infact, any version before the current one, i just chose this one because it is the latets version that isnt BETA)

Install that and it should work.

Note: after installing this it will have that little yellow bar that prompts you to upgrade it to the newer version. don't upgrade until a propper fix has been found.

Try this -

Go to Internet Explorer --- Internet Options --- Advanced Tab --- Disable Script Debugging
Note - Check this. You might also have 2 versions, IE and Other, check both of them.
That disables the MDM process, which is only used if you debug your system.
Note - if you don't know what debugging is, you do not debug.

I did it, but the stupid old thing is still coming up...:\.

i think its something to do with Windows Live Mail, because normally i use the internet, but my sister borrowed my laptop and used Windows Live Mail last night and the thing popped up today when i got my laptop back from her.
