Firefox 2 extension no longer work in firefox 3

Recently after upgrading from Firefox 2 to firefox 3, my extension had stopped working. someone would have figured out how to operate or update my extension under the Firefox 3?

If you switched to Firefox 3, you've surely realized that some of your extensions do not appear to be compatible with this new version. And when you visit the homepage of these extensions, it is not uncommon to find that their development seems to be stopped. Fortunately, I have a small tip for you that should alleviate this problem.

The solution is to edit the extension incompatible. To do this:

1. Download the extension to your desktop.
2. Open the file. Xpi with Winrar or another decompression software.
3. Edit the file install.rdf and find the line that contains:

<Em: maxVersion> 2.0.0 .* </ em: maxVersion>

4. Replace 2.0.0 .* by 3.0 .*
5. Save the file and put the archive up to date.
6. Drag and drop your new file. Xpi into the extensions window.
7. Your extensions should now be functional.
