If you want to setup an audio conference and invite your friends ( maximum 8 members possible )
in that same conference, just get a simple VOIP speakerphone....and enjoy

If you want some of your friends to be in the same conference
(as you are) and some in separate conferences at the same time,
you are talking about a very expensive system with an audio matrix
unit and control unit to sort all this out.

You cannot do this by yourself. There are companies that could pull this
off for $20K - $50K. There may be an off the shelf box that can do this,
but it won't be anywhere near $500.

To Conference With Friends Using Yahoo Messenger

    Step 1
Log in to Yahoo Messenger by starting the application and entering your account information at the prompt, or clicking the 'Messenger' link on the Yahoo home page (see Resources below). Click 'Sign In' once you're ready. You'll need to create an account with Yahoo Messenger before you can proceed if you haven't done so already.

    Step 2
Right-click on a contact from your Friends List. This will bring up a context menu including a selection of options available for your contacts.

    Step 3
Move your mouse over the 'More Actions' menu option, and scroll down and click on 'Invite to Conference.'

    Step 4
Choose contacts to invite to the conference by selecting their names from the list of potential contacts followed by the 'Add' button. Click the 'Invite Other' button if you'd like to invite someone who's not currently a member of your friends list.

    Step 5
Change the 'Message' by typing what you want your invite to read in the text field. This can let people know the topic of the conversation, or it can just be a quick hello to let them know it's you.

    Step 6
Choose to either enable or disable Voice-Chat for the conference by selecting or deselecting the check box. Voice-Chat allows everyone to communicate using a headset or microphone.

    Step 7
Enable your Web cam at this time if you'd like Web cams to be active in the conference.

    Step 8
Click the 'Invite' button once you're done setting the parameters and are ready to open the conference with your friends.

Follow these steps once you are signed into your account:

    1) Click on the "Actions" tab on the menu bar(Top of yahoo messenger)

    2) From the drop down, select "Invite to conference"

    3) Select the friends that you wish to invite with the help of the "add" and "remove" options.

    And youre done!
