Cannot connect to any microsoft sites

Hey people,
My computer will not connect to any Microsoft sites. I am running windows vista SP1. I can surf another websites without any problems. Can anybody suggest something with this?

Add the microsoft website to your HOSTS file, scroll to bottom and type in www.microsoft.com and any other microsoft area you want to access. Then restart and check.
Check your Hosts file to make sure Microsoft.com or related is not being looped back, to 127.0.0.1, start / find / "hosts" with quotations

If you running more than one firewall and/or anti-virus program at the same time, may cause the problem. Using the standard windows firewall is actually like using no firewall. I would suggest to turn it off and install the free zone alarm firewall.

Go to Control Panel => Internet Options => Security tab => click on Trusted Sites and add following to the trusted sites:

http://*.update.microsoft.com
https://*.update.microsoft.com
http://download.windowsupdate.com

Cause of this issue is settings in internet explorer or some firewall settings
First of all check firewall settings of your antivirus software if everything is fine
then open internet explorer , go to Tools > Internet options > Advance > and click on the reset button , it will reset all the settings of your internet explorer.
