Windows live messenger audio call not working

Hi,
I use windows live messenger. When i call or receive any call from my contact, i can't hear anything. Cannot figure out the proble. Can naybody help?

Make sure per app volume is not turned down for Windows Live Messenger. Click the Volume icon in the Notification area > click Mixer make that Windows Live Messenger is not muted or turned down.

It may be a hardware issue. My friend had the same problem. There was a short in his built-in mic. Check your headphones and sound devices on other machine.

Check Tools => Audio and Video Setup to configure the sound properly. The audio problem is affecting the other programs with messenger, then you should check drivers and other softwares too. Try signing in to MSN Web Messenger and see whether this problem still continues.
