Problem with firefox parent.lock

Sponsored Links
HI,

Like many people The message, speifically is "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process or restart your system."

How do you DISABLE the firefox parent.lock? I have restarted my system 2 times .

Delete the parent file lock is done! but impossible to permanently kill the process ... PARENT LOCK.

Please help if some can. Thanks in advance.

Re: Problem with firefox parent.lock

Hi,
Have you try the uninstall and reinstall ? When you uninstall Firefox make sure you clean up your Firefox profile in Documents Settings\ Application Data ....... Programs and delete Files\Mozilla or Firefox.

Re: Problem with firefox parent.lock

Parent.lock is created while firefox is running to prevent multiple use of a profile.

have a look at here http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_in...file_lock_file .. Hope this will help. Good luck.

Re: Problem with firefox parent.lock

Usually, you can just kill the firefox process to solve this problem. Just to clarify something.... parent.lock is a file that Firefox uses for internal uses. You CAN NOT eliminate it from your system. It is part of HOW FIREFOX WORKS.
