idea Real player browser record plug not working in Firefox

    Hello Everybody,

My Real player browse record plug in, is not working any more in Firefox. It has stopped displaying flash video content on Firefox. While looking in to the matter i found that my real player browser record plug was enabled. I tried to uninstall it, but doesn't seems to be working. Even my Internet Explorer get stuck with a blank page and gets a warning sign on status bar at the bottom, when I try to run a flash video content. Can any one tell me how can i make my Internet Explorer to play video contents without any warning and enabling real player browser record plug in too? Does any one have any idea on the above issue?

    Thanks in advance.

To set the RP Record function in Firefox, open RPlayer, go to Tools--> Prefs--> Download & Recording & make your selections.

The pop-up can be stopped by going into Real Players prefs.
    In Real Player, Tools--> Prefs--> Download & Record.Uncheck "Web D/L's & Recording".

    There's also a registry entry:-KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\Firefox\Extensions > C:\Program Files\Real\RealPlayer\browserrecord

    You can try this:

    1. Close Firefox
    2. Open the Firefox profile folder - see How to find your profile
    3. Delete these files:
    • extensions.ini
    • extensions.cache
    • extensions.rdf

    Then try to remove it.

    Also do this:

    1. Enter about:config in the Location bar
    2. Type general.useragent in the "Filter"
    3. Right-click each of the general.useragent preferences and choose "Reset" from the context menu.

Try right clicking on real player, then selecting 'run as admin'. After the software is open, launch your web browser and attempt to go to the site and download the files. If the button does not appear, right click on the stream and check to make sure the option to download is there.

Also, if you are using Internet Explorer, make sure the browser plug-in is enabled. You can do this by following the steps below.

    1. Open Internet Explorer.

    2. Click On Tools, Manage Add-ons, Enable or Disable Add-ons....

In this window you will see several things listed, locate the one that is named 'Real Player Download and Record....'

    3. Click on the Real player Download and Record.

    4. Make sure the dot is in front of 'Enabled'. Then Select Ok.

This will have you shut your browser down and reopen it. From here, you should see the the download options.

For Firefox, Follow the steps below,

    1. Open Firefox

    2. Click on Tools, Then "Add-ons".

    3. Click on "extensions". (Should be a puzzle piece at the top)

    4. Make sure the Real Player Browser Record Plug-in shows 'Disable'. If it does not, click 'enable' to turn it on.

    5. Close the window by clicking the Red X in the top right corner.

    3. Click on the Real player Download and Record.

    4. Make sure the dot is in front of 'Enabled'. Then Select Ok.

This will have you shut your browser down and reopen it. From here, you should see the the download options.
