Cannot bookmark webpages in firefox

Hi friends,
I have my favorite websites in my bookmarks. But today when i tried to bookmark web pages, it shows the list of bookmarks. And the current web page is not there. Can anyone help me?

Check for updates and install the latest version. Try another browsers like Internet Explorer, opera, etc. You can bookmark your favorite sites there. I like internet explorer than other browsers.

Firefox 3 has introduced a lot of changes and improvements, and one of them is related to bookmarks feature. In Firefox 3, a “star” button to allow user to bookmark the focused page immediately and instantly has been added to the end of Location Address Bar. Firefox 3 quick-save the web page into Bookmarks’ Unsorted Bookmarks category without any pop-up or confirmation box, when you click the yellow star.

It sounds like Firefox is corrupted. See if you can find "bookmarks.html". Backup that file and try to reinstall Firefox. Have a look at this link:http://kb.mozillazine.org/Lost_bookmarks
When you upgrade your Firefox, the bookmarks.html file is read only. Navigate to the profile folder. Find bookmarks.html Then Right-click on the file, choose Properties. On the General tab, make sure "Read only" is not checked. And Press OK.
