Kumo new to search engine from Microsoft is beginning to be tested

Microsoft expects that during this week, beginning the first test of the new search engine designed to upgrade Live Search, Kumo (word meaning cloud or spider in Japanese).

In the beginning these tests will be performed internally, so the results will be available only to employees of the company.

While this new engine is designed with the intention of renaming and Live Search update, for now the company wants the results of these tests do not leave their environment.

For now this new service is still not operating outside the company, although at the time this engine is launched, it will attempt to deal with competitors Google and Yahoo!.last November an article in which it sought comment on a rumor that Microsoft had done with the domain kumo.com, this name could replace Live Search, and that the domain was redirected to an area evidence of the company.

Kumo has nothing to do with Viveri, the experimental tool for searching that we announced last week that will allow researchers from Microsoft Research for ideas and feedback search experience for users.

According to a representative of Microsoft, and Kumo Viveri are different but they are complementary.
