Firefox hanging the computer and all programs

Hi all,
I have problems using Firefox 3. It seems to just get stuck loading webpages after 30-60 minutes websurfing. And it haning my entire system and all programs running. Can anyone help me?

You can try to use other browsers like Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Opera.

Try to use Firefox in safe mode. Clear all cache files. May be your antivirus program is causing the problem. Use free antivirus like AVG or Avast and check again. Also reinstall the Firefox. Hope this helps.

Create new profile in Firefox with the help of Profile Manager. After creating and naming a new profile, to make sure "Don't ask at startup" is NOT ticked. Then, just select or highlight the new profile and click Start Firefox to open Firefox using the new profile.
And then transfer all settings from the old profile to the new one. Then Backup the profile and preferences of Firefox.
