ICQ - Failed to create application (Code 2)

    Hello,

Finally when I start my Icq 5.1 , came the call from icq that I download ICQ 6 Icq need to continue to use them. A link was also given, so I invited ICQ 6 down. Eventually stopped downloading & showed me a ERROR to ...: "Failed to create application. (Code 2)"

This warning comes now, whenever I want to start ICQ 6 & therefore I can not use Icq. I have windows 2000 as my operating system.

    Can someone help me?

ICQ is full of advertising, when you start to open even a pop-up.
In the Contact list and in each chat window is advertising.

I was also forced by an update to v5.1 reported. This version is even worse than his predecessor's.

As an alternative, I recommend QIP.

    Hi,

    Solution :

    1. Start-Run:
    regsvr32%systemroot%\apppatch\slayerui.dll

(To be activated in 2000, the tab "compatibility mode")

    2. Create a shortcut (!) Of the ICQ installer Install_ICQ6.exe.

    3. Right click-> Properties.
(what we intend it only for the shortcut, not the file!)

    4. Select Tab "Compatibility"

    5. For Compatibility, select:
    "Windows NT SP5 Compatibility Layer"

    6. Installer shortcut to start (again, not the big ones. Exe double click!)

    You should install ICQ6 best.
