In Safary web browser when I try to play any video file in Media Player it provides me with some system error that MIME is missing. From where can I download it?

Please help me regarding this problem

Re: Missing MIME

I ran into the same problem today. I know you must have solved this by now but posting this for someone like me who runs into this problem now...

I went to http://www.apple.com/safari/download/plugins.html and downloaded the plug-in for Windows Media Player. It solved the problem for me. I am on Windows XP and Safari 3.0.4 (523.15).

Let me know if it works for you too.

Re: Missing MIME

setting
Content-type: application/txt
of course the appropriate
content-disposition

and then, in order to avoid that the file is opened automatically

simply set the SAFARI
Preferences --> General--> uncheck "Open Safe files after downloading".

in this way the file can be downloaded withouth being opened.

Re: Missing MIME

I sometimes get these, but where there is a way to bypass the warning and attempt to play the video, it works. I have RealOne Player and Windows Media Player in addition to Quicktime. There are even sites that activate iTunes when you weren't expecting it.

I think it's just a badly written site; although, if Safari is emulating IE, how would the site know not to check for IE plugins?

Re: Missing MIME

You need to download Realplayer for mac. Unfortunately, that's the only way to obtain their codec. (CBS video uses real format). Fortunately, Realplayer mac isn't the train wreck it is on Windows. (Only RealNetworks could make a better product by paying LESS attention to it).
Being that it's a unibin now, it should work on either PowerPC or Intel Macs too.
