Re: Problem with Yahoo Games

If the problems you're experiencing with Yahoo! Games include:
  • getting a blank screen
  • nothing occurring when you try to join a table
  • any similar problem

You need to double-check that Java and JavaScript are fully enabled in your browser. Follow the steps below for your browser:

Netscape 4.XX or newer for Windows, Mac, or Linux
  • Click "Edit" in the menu bar, and then select "Preferences."
  • Click the word "Advanced" and put checks in the boxes next to "Enable Java" and "Enable JavaScript."

Internet Explorer 4.XX for Windows
  1. Click "View" in the menu bar, and then select "Internet Options."
  2. Click the "Security" tab.
  3. For the Internet Zone, be sure that the Security level is set to "Medium" or below. (If you 've chosen to customize your Security settings for the Internet zone, be sure that under the Java heading, "Java permissions" is not set to "Disable Java." You'll want to select one of the three safety levels instead. Also be sure that under the Scripting heading, "Scripting of Java Applets" is set to "Enable" or "Prompt.")
  4. Next, click the "Advanced" tab.
  5. Scroll down until you see the subheading "Java VM."
  6. Check the boxes next to "Java logging enabled" and "Java console enabled." (Note: If you've checked the box next to "Java JIT compiler enabled" and are experiencing freezing problems, uncheck that box.)

Internet Explorer 5.XX or 6.XX for Windows
  • Click "Tools" in the menu bar, and then select "Internet Options."
  • Click the "Security" tab. For the Internet zone, be sure that the Security level is set to "Medium" or below. (If you've chosen to customize your security settings for the Internet zone, be sure that under the Java heading, "Java permissions" is not set to "Disable Java." You'll want to select one of the three safety levels instead. Also be sure that under the Scripting heading, "Scripting of Java Applets" is set to "Enable" or "Prompt.")
  • Next, click the "Advanced" tab.
  • Scroll down until you see the subheading "Java VM."
  • Check the boxes next to "Java logging enabled" and "Java console enabled." (Note: If you checked the box next to "Java JIT compiler enabled" and are experiencing freezing problems, uncheck that box.)

Re: Problem with Yahoo Games

Hello You can try Clearing your Web browser cache as it forces the browser to load the latest versions of Web pages and programs you visit.

For Internet Explorer 4.x and Up
  • Click "Tools" from the Internet Explorer menubar
  • Click "Internet Options..."
  • Click the "General" Tab
  • Click the "Delete Files" button in the "Temporary Internet files" section
  • If you still have a problem, repeat the steps above and restart the computer.

For Netscape 4.x and Up
  • Click "Edit" from the Netscape menubar
  • Click "Preferences..." from the "Edit" menu
  • Expand the "Advanced" menu by clicking the triangle sign
  • Click "Cache"
  • Click both the "Clear Memory Cache" and the "Clear Disk Cache" buttons.

For Mozilla 1.x and Up
  • Click "Edit" from the Mozilla menubar
  • Click "Preferences..." from the "Edit" menu
  • Expand the "Advanced" menu by clicking the plus sign
  • Click "Cache"
  • Click the "Clear Cache" button

For Opera
  • Click "Edit" from the Opera menubar
  • Click "Preferences..." from the "File" menu
  • Click the "History and Cache menu"
  • Click "Cache"
  • Click ok to close the Preferences menu
  • Please refer to the Opera support page on Web caching for more detailed information.

Re: Problem with Yahoo Games

The JRE could not obtain proxy information from any of the following browser-platform combinations: Internet Explorer on Windows
  1. Start the "Java Plug-in Control Panel" by following these instructions.
  2. Click the Start menu
  3. Select Settings
  4. Select Control Panel
  5. Double click the "Java Plug-in" icon
  6. Click the "Proxies" Tab
  7. Make sure that the "Use Browser Settings" checkbox is checked. If it is not, then check it and hit the "Apply" button to save your changes. Doing this will cause the JRE to use the Web browser's proxy settings for all Internet connections.
  8. Close all browser windows. Restart the browser and try to load the applet.

If the applet still does not load, and you see the same connection error, try to configure the "Java Plug-in Control Panel" "Proxies" Tab using your web browser's proxy settings.
The web browser proxy settings are set as either manual or automatic. Please choose from the instructions below to configure your proxy settings for the JRE.
