Information about Internet Explorer 7

Hello Friends

I would like to know about Internet Explorer 7. Currently i'm using Internet Explorer 6 as my web browser and wants to switch to Internet Explorer 7. Can any one tell me how does Internet Explorer 7 works or should i go for new Firefox? Any help on this would be appreciated.

Internet Explorer 7 is a useful program that includes advancements in security and browsing experience for end users, functionality and compatibility for developers, and manageability for corporate network administrators.

Some key features of "Internet Explorer 7":

Disables nearly all pre-installed ActiveX controls to prevent potentially vulnerable controls from being exposed to attack. You can easily enable or disable ActiveX controls as needed through the Information Bar and the Add-on Manager.
The Internet Explorer 7 frame is reorganized to make it noticeably simpler, more streamlined, and less cluttered with unnecessary items. This maximizes the area of the screen devoted to the webpages that you want to see and makes performing the most common browsing tasks easy.
Addresses many of the major inconsistencies that can cause web developers problems when producing visually rich, interactive webpages. Improved support for CSS2.1, including selectors and fixed positioning, allow web developers to create more powerful effects without the use of script.
Enhances awareness of website security and privacy settings by displaying color-coded notifications next to the address bar. Internet Explorer 7 changes the Address Bar green for websites bearing new High Assurance certificates, indicating the site owner has completed extensive identity verification checks. With enhanced security features designed to provide a high degree of security during any Web surfing experience, a newly implemented 'Windows Customer Service Experience Improvement Program' and many more useful features, Internet Explorer 7 appears to be a very good alternative to Mozilla Firefox or Opera.

You can have a look at the user interface, tabbed design, customizable toolbar, 'Favorites Center' containing history and RSS feeds, 'Windows Live' search engine which are included by default. All the open tabs can be displayed in thumbnail mode (Quick Tabs), the search engine section can be customized by adding or removing search providers and setting your favorite search engine as default.
