    Firefox automatic login problem

    Hello,

And for a while now whenever I start Firefox I have to go in connection logger then me. It was always a waste of time.Yet I did not change the settings of Firefox ...

If anyone knows how to restore it ?

I'm not good with firefox , but it might be a cookie problem. Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> [ ] Accept cookies from sites & Keep until: they expire. You might have something like "delete cookies when I close Firefox" enabled

    Re: Firefox automatic login problem

You need to reset the pref general.useragent.extra.firefox on the about:config page. Right-click and Reset all general.useragent prefs to the default value.
You can see the current Firefox version in the Help > About window (at the top).
Try to clear the cache and delete cookies from site(s) that cause problems:
Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

    You can fix it.
In the profiles folder (see post from cor-el above) there is a file named cookies.sqlite. Close down Firefox and make a backup of this file then delete it from the folder. Restart Firefox and go to a site that you know will drop a cookie. A new cookies.sqllite file will be created. Cookies should now save correctly. Sqlite is a tiny database application that, evedently, Firefox uses to store cookies. My guess is that this file got corrupted and Firefox was not able to save cookies anymore.

    Re: Firefox automatic login problem

Thank you so much johnson22, I had the same problem than Meltronics, which was driving me crazy..!

I tried to delete all cookies, history and everything --didn't work ; tried to start in safe mode --didn't work either ; finally uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, which changed absolutely nothing...

And I found this thread, I deleted the cookies.sqlite file and indeed it works like a charm ! So I think your guess was right, it must have been corrupted, which is why all the other solutions didn't work.

If someone has the same problem, the Profile folder is in the application data folder (then Mozilla Firefox etc...)

    Thanks again
