    Exclamation yellow shield with exclamation mark

    I just want to know if anyone can tell me what the yellow shield with the exclamation in the middle is? Its on my tool tray by the time....It has popped up a few times and said "virtual minimum memory too low"....what does that mean....thanks

    Virtual memory is the space your PC uses when it's short of RAM (Random Access Memory), which is the memory used when running programs.

    Best solution for "virtual memory minimum is too low" message is you can increase the memory by adding more RAM. or you can increase the virtual memory from setting as some program require more memory space

    If your system is Windows XP, Follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
    2. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
    3. In the Performance pane, click Settings.
    4. In the Performance Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
    5. In the Virtual memory pane, click Change.
    6. Change the Initial size value and the Maximum size value to a higher value,
    7. click Set, and then click OK.
    8. Click OK to close the Performance Options dialog box, and then click OK to
    9. close the System Properties dialog box.

    For Windows 2000 Operating System, use this steps:

    1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
    2. In the System Properties dialog box, click Advanced
    3. Click Performance Options.
    4. In the Virtual memory pane, click Change to increase the paging file.
    5. Windows 2000 requires an Initial value of 126 MB for debugging.
    6. After you change the setting, click Set, and then click OK.
    7. In the System Control Panel Applet dialog box, click OK to the following
    8. message:
    9. The changes you have made require you to restart your computer before
    10. they can take effect.
    11. Click OK to close the Performance Options dialog box, and then click OK to
    12. close the System Properties dialog box.
    13. When you are prompted to restart your computer, click Yes.

    this is the Windows install shield...it actually works to prevent you from downloading bad things! If you click it, it will give you a list of the things it wants to install...in most cases, it is a Windows security update though I've also seen it pop up for other programs,I have installed from the Internet.

    im not sure how the forums work or if im typing in the right place but hopefully you see this..

    in the virtual memory space it says....total page filing size for all drives is 250 MB is this what it should be? Thanks..
