after reading 100s of threads on this error, i'm not able to fix the problem in my laptop. i use windows vista.
i use 3 different isps. bsnl, reliance and tataindicom's wireless.
for last 20 days i have this problem and no solution is helping me.
i tried setting smtp to 26 and get error as-----
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test', Account: 'So', Server: 'mail.so.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 26, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

pls some one help.
i called up bsnl broadband and they said there is a problem of sending emails. but i should be able to send in other isps, why not am i able to?
pls do not say that isp is blocking port 25. don't ask me to check 'my server requires authentication' because i've done it all, in vain.
