question Google Chrome working slower than Mozilla Firefox

    Hi,

I use Mozilla Firefox for web browsing in my laptop. My broadband connection is 128kbps (hathway) and I am getting download speed of 6-8 kbps in day time and 12-15kbps in the night.

Recently I've installed Google Chrome in my laptop. Browsing has become very slow in Chrome. Websites are taking long time to open. Download speed starts at around 4-6 kbps and decreases gradually to 1-2 kbps. But mozilla is working fast.

Can any one of you let me know the reason for this? Do I need to do any setting in Chrome to make it faster?

Well, if Chrome is not working for you up to the mark, then keep using Firefox. For FF is the best browser till date, I'll say.

This is what I read on a site,
Many will be misguided with Chrome’s prompt opening session, but Google will not, at least in eye reach time, keep up all the quality that Mozilla Firefox is providing to its users, because Firefox is open source and there are all kind of plugins and ad-ons provided by users and developers…I just cannot see Google reaching this kind of utilities.

Re: Google Chrome working slower than Mozilla Firefox

Here are the results of testing two sites. One quite media rich and the other very spartan (Yahoo and Google, who else) and guess what, Chrome slower than Firefox

    Empty Cache
    • Chrome: au.yahoo.com (13.1s) , google.com.au (0.7s)

    • Firefox: au.yahoo.com (3.2s) , google.com.au (0.7s)

    Full Cache
    • Chrome: au.yahoo.com (3.0s) , google.com.au (0.4s)

    • Firefox: au.yahoo.com (2.9s) , google.com.au (0.4s)

As you can see Firefox is a lot quicker on an empty cache but loses its lead quite dramatically on a full cache. The tests were performed a number of times using Webslug and then averaged. The most interesting thing to come out of this is that Google Chrome is actually slower on Google’s own site
