Download of Yahoo Messenger fails. Gives some file missing error.

I have been trying to download latest yahoo messenger and is not getting done the number of times I tried it. Everytime I tried it, it stops at a certain time and says that I am missing some files. Like YML.dll file. Every error message gives some different file missing error like this. I sent the log that was generated and also tried what it said, but the messenger still not getting downloaded. So what can I do to download Yahoo Messenger?

Follow these steps for each case to see if you can get rid of the error,

1. Disable any download accelerators and download the installer again.
2. Update any active anti-virus and download the installer again.
3. Disable any active anti-virus and download the installer again.
4. Download the installer from another source. It might be corrupted on the server, or the connection to the server is unreliable.
5. Download the installer using another computer and copy it to the original computer using a reliable media.
6. Rename the installer so it is a simple one-word name with no special characters (without removing the .exe suffix)

Without any details it's hard to say what the problem is,

• Where exactly in the process does the download fail?
• What is the error message?
• What browser are you using?
• What, if any, download managers/accelerators are you using?
• What operating system are you running?

This information is critical for proper diagnosis and treatment.

You can also try this,

1. Disable any download accelerators and download the installer again.
2. Disable any firewalls and download the installer again.
3. If it is installed, uninstall the nVidia firewall and download the installer again.
4. Scan for, and remove malware
5. Scan for, and remove viruses
6. Scan the hard drive using scandisk, chkdsk, or any other hard drive repair tool
7. Download the installer using another network connection and copy it to the original computer using a reliable media.

The system is a Microsoft Windows XP Professional w/ Version 2002 Service Pack 2. It is has an Intel® Pentium® M processor w/ 1600MHz and 589 MHz, 512MB of RAM. I am not using any download manager.

I can go to the Yahoo website and check my emails. I can even get Yahoo Messenger for the Web but not the regular version

You didn't mention what other DLLs are missing. Yml.dll is Yahoo's library file needed by the Yahoo! Messenger application. You should be able to at least download the IM, but there may be some security settings or popup blockers, etc. which are giving you problems.

I am also having problems with yahoo messenger. I download it, and it goes though all the instructions. Then when its completed, a message comes up saying "CoCreateInstance for the MyYahoo DLL failed!" Can you help? Do i have to go onto the DLL site you gave?

If you have any previous version of Yahoo messenger, I would uninstall it before starting the new install.
