How to know Internet connection is ADSL or cable modem?

Hello, everybody i wanted to now how can we identify whethere a interent connection is adsl or cable modem ? my freind has 2 mb line. i wanted to know what could be his connection type? all suggestion are welcome thanks

Power, Ethernet, DSL, Internet

CableModem
Power, snd, rcv, usb, eth, synk, ready

it is really easy: if you have a router then you have adsl connection and if you have modem then cable modem

if you have 2 mbps line than no looking back it is ADSL Connection

Good Day everybody,
I have a question to an expert person in networking branch.

I have the following scheme:

ADSL cable. . . . . . . . . . . .ETHERNET cable
(wall socket)------------------ROUTER-------------------------PC

<---------------------------2.5 meter--------------------------->

the whole present distance is 2.5 m.

Now, if I want to increase the distance to 10 m, which cable is better to be longer with minimum signal loss ?? the ADSL cable (normal telefone line rj11) or the ethernet (LAN cable UTP rj45) ??????

The lights on my modem say Power, DS, US, Online, Link. Does that mean I have ADSL or cable?
