Notifier cannot connect to mailbox with 'Always use https' setting enabled

I Enabled the HTTPS setting in Gmail using this thread Enabling the HTTPS setting in Gmail but after doing this setting my google toolbar notifier cannot connect to google mail please tell me how to solve this issue thanks in advance

If you've enabled the 'Always use https' setting in Google Mail, you'll need to install a patch for the Notifier to work with this setting:

1. Download the patch (.zip).
2. Open the folder.
3. Double-click the notifier_https.reg file.
4. Click yes when you're asked to confirm if you want to add the information to the registry.
5. Restart the Notifier.

If you decide you no longer want to use the https setting, you'll need to install the other file included in the download to reset the Notifier. Use the same method as above, except with 'notifier_https_undo.reg.'

patch worked fine but I no longer get notified for new mail in folders. Oh well.

If you have the Google Talk client installed, you will automatically receive new mail notifications from Google Talk and you do not need to install the Notifier. So better try and install google talk from here - http://www.google.com/talk/. I had also setup my gmail emails to be synchronized with my Outlook 2007 using IMAP but but it does not work when a new mail arrives in my IMAP account mailbox.
